It seems like winter arrived all at once this year. One day, I was going for brisk autumn walk crunching on fallen leaves, the next day, I was shoveling my car out of a snow drift so I could get to church on time. Snow is one of those things that doesn’t really seem to have an upside when you’re the one clearing the driveway. When you’re in the middle of the snowstorm, all you know is that you can’t feel your toes with half the shoveling left to do. Only when you get to step away from regular life do you get to appreciate the fun side of snow with sledding, skiing, and snowball fights.
Life gives us all kinds of snowstorms. Whether it’s trouble at school or home, with dating or friendships,  we all experience moments in our lives that leave us feeling like God has left us out in the cold. We want to have the kinds of fun and meaning that can come with a day

UPCOMING EVENTS:

1.  After church, we’ll head out and “hit the slope.’ Bring your sled—or not— we’ve got extras.  Dress for the weather. We’ll do time trials and have an award for worship wipe-out. Permission slips available on the CRUMY Group board. Please bring a donation to help pay for lunch if you are able.

2UMYs is an annual youth convention for grades 9-12 the weekend of Feb. 12-14. It’s always a great opportunity to build friendships and grow closer to God. Find registration forms with details and cost on the CRUMY board or website.

Financial assistance available.

3. Have you always wanted to show the world your hidden talent? We’ll have a stage just for you to show us what you’ve got at “B-SQUAD’s Got Talent!” Put together something funny, musical, or otherwise fascinating with friends from church, school, or wherever. Stick around and bring a $5 donation for pizza if you are able.

4.  We’re doing a joint lock-out event with Faith Lutheran as well as some other area churches. We’ll be going to Feed My Starving Children and doing midnight worship at our own church led by our youth band! Get a permission slip for details. Check out the link on our facebook group.

on the skating rink with someone you care about, but sometimes it seems like all we ever get to do is wait around at a life’s frozen bus stop with nothing to do but suffer in silence.
Perhaps what you need to do is step back from the normal routine of life. Try spending some time on your own with the Bible, go on a retreat like UMYs, or maybe you need to just go sledding to see that You aren’t alone on a vast frozen tundra. You have friends all around you and a true friend in Jesus who will stick to you like a tongue on an icy stop sign no matter what, making the very best out of the worship storms of life.
